TaComF is on Hiatus Until Further Notice
Hey Forkers,
For the past few months I've been mentioning that TaComF would soon be going on hiatus. That time is now. Hopefully everything below will answer any questions you may have, and if not, feel free to e-mail me.
Why are you taking a break?
TaComF is only a hobby for me, and as such life sometimes often gets in the way. Every time I get on a roll drawing pages, something comes up to slow me down. This is why TaComF has rarely ever kept to any decent schedule. This hiatus is going to give me a chance to build up a buffer so that I can update on a decent schedule - weekly, hopefully.
What the hell is a "buffer"?
A buffer is basically just a bunch of pages created in advance. As that bunch of pages is released on a set schedule, I'm working on more pages to add to the bunch. The goal is to build up a big enough buffer that I can release pages on a weekly schedule for awhile before I have to take another break.
But you've taken breaks before. How is this one different?
I certainly have disappeared in the past, but during those unplanned breaks I didn't get much time to work on TaComF. This time though, I'm taking a break specifically to work on the comic. I'm not quitting my job or anything, but I am aiming to spend as much free time as I can working on pages so I can bring back TaComF as soon as possible. TaComF may be taking a break, but I certainly won't be.
So how long until the comic comes back?
At first I said that I only wanted to take one month off. I've since changed my mind. Now the answer is basically, "as long as it takes."
WHAT?!
Yeah. I want to build up a huge buffer, and when you allow for unforseen circumstances, a single month isn't enough. Instead of limiting myself, I'm going to draw page after page until I'm comfortable that I can maintain a decent update schedule for a long time.
You suck. I'm removing your comic from my bookmarks.
By all means, feel free. I know that my slow and sporadic update schedule is one of the major reasons that TaComF has so few readers, and that's why I'm trying to fix that problem. You won't offend me at all if you decide to drop my comic because of this break in updates. I do hope, however, that if you hear about TaComF again once it resumes updating, you'll give it another chance.
Well what if I do stick around?
Keep checking the front page during the break. Eventually, I plan to post a gallery where I'll put all kinds of teaser art to hold you over.
There's even a chance that a few pages of the very first version of TaComF might show up there, from back when I was 12 years old. (See the Comic History for more information on that.)
In addition to all of the above, I'd like to invite you to e-mail me. If you want an update on the status of the comic, if you have a question, or even if you just have a cool comic you want me to check out, feel free to drop me a line. I'll also be posting updates on Twitter from time to time, and I will definitely post there when TaComF resumes.
-Until our triumphant return,
